We were asked if we could help Ruchika to buy her own violin and were delighted to be able to step in and help.
In her words “Playing the violin has given me unique opportunities like joining bands at school. I am playing in a band at East London Community Band as well as at my secondary school. I am currently on grade four repertoire in which I am learning a variety of scales and songs. Playing the violin is enjoyable and fun. I am glad to be continuing the instrument that I have learned so much on. I also love spreading the joy and playing my violin for others. I had been lent a complimentary violin during primary school, this is when I developed my love of the instrument. It came as quite a shock to me and my family to hear that we would have to return the violin as I was heading to secondary school. I am deeply grateful that I have not been forced to stop playing the violin for economic reasons. Playing the violin makes me happy and I hope performing will make others happy”.
And here she is in action!
