Three weeks ago, we announced that Music for All, supported by a host of partners, are teaming up with Jamie Cullum for a unique event – the World’s First 5G Music Lesson.
Jamie Cullum is without doubt, one of the world’s most exciting, charismatic and energetic musicians, always pushing boundaries. No surprise then that he’s at the forefront of a unique project showcasing the latest connectivity technology. There are just two weeks to go and we thought it was time to share an update.
The event is bought to you by Music for All, spreading the benefits of making music – making music changes lives. Research shows clearly that making music regularly helps players of all ages, backgrounds and aptitudes keep smarter, younger, healthier and more sociable.
In keeping with those aims, we wanted to give an opportunity to participate as open as possible, and called for amateur musicians of any background to apply to join Jamie’s 5G band!
We were inundated by entries of incredibly high quality from all around the world. After many happy hours watching videos, reading amazing accounts of applicants’ background and what they’d like to learn from Jamie, we narrowed down the entries to a shortlist, and Jamie himself made the final selections.
So we’re delighted to announce that Jamie’s 5G Band has now been appointed, and have met each other – virtually, naturally!
We will being you more information on this exciting event in the lead up. Meanwhile, read about the work of Music for All (musicforall.org.uk/news/) and donate generously to support MfA’s work (www.justgiving.com/musicforall)
