This lovely Primary School in Bradford needed our help to get more instruments for the children to learn on. We stepped in and have just had this positive update from the school:

“The grant for St John’s has allowed us to widen our instrumental provision in the school, now offering drums, guitar and woodwind to our students, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access learning an instrument, due to their financial situations.

We now have more than 30 children learning guitar, drums, clarinets and flutes on a weekly basis, in small group tuition, and they are loving their lessons.

Blanka, Year 4: “I wish we could do clarinet every day”… Her response at the end of the lesson this morning!

We hope to work towards putting on concerts for parents, as well as going out into the local community to share our music. We do this with our choir, visiting community centres and care homes, but to be able to share live instrumental music will be wonderful for the community, in an area with many social and financial problems”.
